Tulalip Tribal Drug Task Force Narcotics Investigation
Tulalip, Washington - Over the past few months, Detectives with the Tulalip Tribal Drug Task Force (TTDTF) learned of a suspected narcotics dealer who frequently drove to the Tulalip Reservation and sold narcotics to Tulalip Tribal members who live in Tulalip Housing areas. After months of investigation and surveillance, TTDTF Detectives arrested the suspect this week as they were delivering narcotics to the Tulalip Reservation.
Residential Explosion and Fire
June 18, 2024
Tulalip, Washington - On Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at approximately 2:31 PM, emergency first responders from the Tulalip Bay Fire District, Marysville Fire District, and the Tulalip Tribal Police Department responded to a call of a house explosion and fire located in the 2800 block Ed Williams Rd. Upon arrival, first responders found the house was on fire, and a rear corner of the house had been destroyed by the explosion. An adult male who was inside the house and had made it out had sustained severe burns over 50% of his body as a result of the explosion, he was transported by medical aid to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Missing Indigenous Person - Janey "Lisa" Mohawk

Tulalip, Washington-June 6, 2024. The Tulalip Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Janey “Lisa” Mohawk, 35 years of age. Janey is 5’9”’ and weighs 125 lbs. she has brown hair and brown eyes. Janey does not have a vehicle and was believed to be last seen walking in the Tulalip–Marysville area near I-5 and 4th Street. Janey is reported to sometimes panhandle on freeway offramps and in front of businesses. Tulalip Tribal Police Traffic Speed Detecting System

The Tulalip Police Department has recently purchased a speed detection trailer system as another tool used by the Tulalip Police Department in our traffic safety efforts. The system is set up with a display sign that can display multiple variations of messages, pictures, and the vehicle’s current speed.
Tulalip Tribal Police Patrol Narcotics Arrests and Seizure
On April 10, 2024, Tulalip Police Patrol night shift Officers contacted a suspicious vehicle. The investigation revealed the female driver had 2,923 Fentanyl pills, 20 Vicodin, 3.73 grams meth, and 6.33 grams of fentanyl. She was later booked into the County for Possession of Controlled Substances with Intent to Deliver. An occupant of the vehicle admitted to more narcotics being located inside of the vehicle. The officers applied for a Superior Court Search Warrant and executed the warrant for the suspected narcotics inside the vehicle.

Tulalip Police Department's Drug Task Force Seizes Over 61,000 Counterfeit Fentanyl Pills “Operation Clean Sweep.”
Tulalip, WA – On February 20, 2024, the Tulalip Police Department's Drug Task Force, in coordination with federal and local law enforcement partners, successfully seized over 61,000 counterfeit fentanyl pills.
Drug Task Force Narcotics Investigation
On January 31, 2024, Tulalip Police Department Drug Task Force (DTF) Detectives contacted a suspicious vehicle at a local establishment on the Tulalip Reservation. During the investigation of the vehicle, DTF Detectives observed narcotics and items used to facilitate the sale of narcotics.
Illegal Marijuana Grow
Case 24-0026
On January 4, 2024, the Tulalip Police Department with assistance from the BIA and DEA executed a search warrant for an Illegal marijuana grow on the reservation. The grow operation consisted of several buildings that had more than 1500 plants in various states of growth.
Tulalip Drug Task Force Successfully Disrupts Narcotics Operation, Arrests Non-Tribal Male for Counterfeit Fentanyl Distribution in Silver Village Housing Area
December 20, 2023, The Tulalip Drug Task Force, concluded a narcotics investigation resulting in the arrest of a non-tribal male involved in the distribution of counterfeit fentanyl pills within the Silver Village Housing Area.
Narcotics Search Warrant
On October 17, 2023, The Tulalip Police Department conducted a search warrant on the residence and arrested the two suspects on probable cause. While searching for additional contraband inside the residence and garage, Officers located an illegally possessed firearm, illegal narcotics, and currency.
Drug Search Warrant Silver Village
The Tulalip Police Department Drug Task Force (DTF) conducted a narcotics distribution investigation on a suspected drug dealer residing in tribal housing located in Silver Village, Tulalip. On Tuesday, October 10, 2023, the TPD DTF with the assistance of TPD Patrol, TPD Community Response Team (CRT), and TPD Criminal Investigations Unit (CIU), served a Tribal Court Search Warrant at the residence identified through this investigation.
Drug Task Force Investigation and Arrest at Marathon Gas Station
This week DTF Detectives were able to establish probable cause to arrest the employee for two counts of possession with the intent to distribute. On Friday, October 6, 2023, after learning that the employee was working, Tulalip Patrol Officers and DTF Detectives arrested the suspect on probable cause. The suspect was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on the narcotics violation charges.
Organized Retail Theft Case Search Warrant
On Friday, October 6, 2023, Tulalip Police Officers and Criminal Investigations Unit Detectives conducted a residential Search Warrant in Tulalip Tribal Housing, Silver Village, as part of an ongoing investigation into Organized Retail Theft both on and off the Tulalip Indian Reservation. Many items of possible evidence were collected at the scene for processing and the investigation is ongoing as we continue to battle organized retail theft rings.
Narcotics and Illegal Firearm Possession Investigation
On October 3, 2023, a Tulalip Police Patrol Officer investigated a stolen motor vehicle located in a parking lot on the Tulalip Reservation. The vehicle occupants were located and one occupant was arrested on two felony warrants out of King County, the male driver had DOC warrants and DV warrants and was booked for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, and a third occupant was also arrested for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, and Unlawful possession of a Firearm x 2 counts.
TPD is taking action against Fentanyl
On August 31, 2023, the TPD Drug Task Force executed a vehicle search warrant and discovered 13 Oxycodone pills, 56.93g of heroin, 11.32g of meth, 1.11g of cocaine, 6.24g of fentanyl, 16 Adderall pills, and $4,110. A firearm was found in the vehicle during the search, and an addendum was written. While executing the addendum, a stolen Glock 19 handgun was discovered. Scales and baggies were also found, indicating that the narcotics were intended for sale and not personal use.
Drug Task Force (DTF)
The week of July 3-7, 2023: The Drug Task Force (DTF) is dedicated to fighting the war on the rise of illegal narcotic sales. DTF Detectives had approximately 50 suspicious vehicle contacts this week, two of those contacts alone led to the seizure of the following narcotics: ¼ pound of Fentanyl powder, over 2600 Fentanyl pills, 98 grams of Methamphetamine, and 4.41 grams of Cocaine.

Accident Near Sunny Shores
On July 19, 2022, at approximately 12:30 p.m. Tulalip Bay Fire, Marysville Fire, Tulalip Tribal Police, and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and Collision Investigations Unit responded to a call about a motor vehicle accident near Sunny Shores and Marine Drive.

Missing Person Mary Ellen Johnson-Davis
The Tulalip Police Department would like your help in locating a missing person. Mary Johnson, age 40, was reported missing by her husband on December 9, 2020. Mary was last seen walking on Firetrail Road (140th) Tulalip, WA, on 11-25-2020. Mary had arranged to meet a friend on Firetrail for a ride to Arlington. She never arrived at her destination. Mary has not been in contact with her family or friends.
Memorial Service for Officer Charlie Joe Cortez
On November 17, 2020 the Tulalip Police Department lost Officer Charlie Joe Cortez in the line of duty. Officer Cortez was 29 years old when his patrol boat capsized while responding to a call. His remains have not yet been recovered.
Charlie was a son, brother and father of two beautiful children. Charlie was a Tulalip Tribal member. He was born, and raised on the Tulalip Reservation which he proudly served. Please join us to honor his sacrifice and support his family.
TPD Lost Officer
On November 17, 2020 at approximately 8:30 pm two officers with Tulalip Tribal Police Department Fish and Wildlife Division were following another boat into the Everett Marina to ensure the fishermen reached port. The Tulalip Fish and Wildlife Officers were returning to Tulalip Bay Marina when a rogue wave hit their 24ft patrol vessel causing it to capsize. Both crew members were thrown into the water.

On June 23, 2020, at approximately 0430 hours, three male subjects broke into the Tulalip Pharmacy by smashing the glass door with a rock. Intention and consent are the differences between street art and vandalism. Artists have permission from the property owner, vandals do not. Phone Scam Targeting Elders
October 29th, 2018, a phone scam has been circulating in our community targeting Grandparents and Elders.
The scam typically begins with a person pretending to be a grandchild asking their grandparent or respected elder for help. The person on the phone will begin with something like, “It’s your favorite grandson” or, “ Do you know who this is grandma?”
